San Diego Tourmaline Earrings

I recently took a class on making hinges and now I’m all about them… it gives the earrings such great movement. These sweet pink tourmalines were mined in San Diego, California and are so special. They’re set in 18 karat gold bezels with a sterling silver base plate. The backs of the stones have been sawn out to let the light shine through them. The hinges use a piece of 18 karat gold wire to make the ends pop against the dark silver. The top part has been sawed and filed into its final design, both front and back. The earrings have been oxidized to darken the silver but the gold remains nice and shiny making a great contrast along with the pink of the stones. Approximately 2 inches in total length but lightweight and comfortable to wear. Will go with almost everything!
