Dinosaur Bone Ring, size 7.5

I have been wanting to make something with fossilized dinosaur bone since I first discovered it on a trip out west with my Mom some 10 years ago… we were going to all the National Parks in southern Utah and probably stopped at all the rock shops between each of the park. 🙂 I was still fairly new to silversmithing and each new type of stone I discovered was like a revelation. But to realize that people could wear a little piece of dinosaur bone was just mind boggling… I still have a piece of dino bone I bought on that trip. This isn’t it but I think this might be the first one I’ve actually set… not sure why I waited so long…

This Dino bone is set on two layers of sterling of which one has been hand hammered for a beautiful texture. The ring shank has been hand built and similarly features a hammered texture.
